DOWNLOAD: 69 Minutes Of Cheesiness – Deleted Scene One – The Cheesy House Bit [38 MB – 0:15:48 – 320kbs]

This is one of two additional mixes that I worked on for the 69 Minutes of Cheesiness Mix from last week. For Deleted Scene One I tried to create a totally cheesy house mix, something I never allowed myself to play as a left field DJ. In the end didn’t work with the other parts of the mix, so I am posting it alone.

I hope you enjoy it and please spread the word 😉

TRACKLIST:

Get Off The Internet

DOWNLOAD: Get Off The Internet [144.2 MB – 1:00:00 – 320kbs]

[Edit: removed the pathetic introduction]

So what’s this about?

Let’s check some of the track names:

Get Off The Internet – Spam – Anti Anti – Cruel World – Thoughts and Actions – The Noise Came From Here – Tunnel Vision – Pain – Waiting Room – Picture A Vacuum – Kid For Today – Execute – Super Hero – “Revolution” – Re-volution – Bring The Sun – Get Off The Internet

You guessed it. This year the theme of my mix is internet burnout. It is meant as an expression of the many questions that worry me in regards to the internet. Yes, the glorious internet – we thought it had such promise, such potential. But it turned out to be mostly just way too much work – for a glorified dictionary. Consider the amount of time you waste sorting through bullshit, looking for stuff you don’t need, protecting your data or interacting with idiots. It’s been getting worse for some years now. But this last year especially it became awful. We got bombarded with propaganda, lies, and so much hatred floated around. Communities got more polarized instead of coming together. With buzz words like big data, filter bubbles, fake news, the post-truth era was proclaimed, and with that the internet turned into a huge pain in the ass, that mostly fulfilled it’s potential for abuse and manipulation. The sharing of information and all the other fun stuff still happens. But the trolls and haters have taken over the internet. And when that orange monster with tiny hands, the chief of trolls, the bully supreme, was elected US president (and will soon have the nuclear codes OMG), it was made clear that, as Leonard Cohen R.I.P said, the good guys lost. The haters have not only taken over the internet, but also the world. Everyone agrees, without the internet T®^µp (I still refuse to write his name) would not have been possible. So, gee, thanks for that, internet.

Maybe it’s time to get off the internet?

Maybe we should. But surely we won’t. We’ll just have to learn how to apply better, more efficient filters, how to waste less time, how to stay safe and how to be more selective with whom we interact. This is a process. The potential for greatness is still there, the internet can still be part of the solution. But I for one will reserve more time to get off the internet, to reconnect with nature, to interact with actual flesh and blood people, and to read more fucking books. Books are great.

This will be good… I guess.

[The pathetic intro:
Every year in the late fall/early winter I create a DJ mix. It’s just some kind of a habit by now, a project, something to do. These days I just go through the motions. Releasing DJ mixes is kind of pointless these days, no one has time to listen to them. The medium doesn’t really go anywhere. Why do I keep making them? Every year more I wonder why do I waste so much time on this? Hmm.

I am no longer connected to what is happening in the music world. My approach to finding new music has been mostly passive. New releases of favorite bands I always check them out, of course, and it has been a great year for such releases (A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Beginner, DJ Shadow, Coldcut, Cinematic Orchestra and, of course, Burial). But other than that I no longer look for music actively. Most of the other tracks in this mix were found in a passive way. With great embarrassment I realized, that three of the songs that I used came from watching the TV series Silicon Valley. Either this show has a very good music editor (I think so), or this should really disqualify me from creating a DJ Mix. I will let you decide.

One thing I notice, for me to create this DJ mix per year, presents a way to sort through and organize my music. It allows me to look through the audio samples I keep recording throughout the year. And then I try to tell a story with music and samples.]

#ifyouonlyreadone, and yes of course, Laurie Penny

Is it too late to save the world? Jonathan Franzen on one year of Trump’s America – “‘As the ice shelves crumble and the Twitter president threatens to pull out of the Paris accord’, Franzen reflects on the role of the writer in times of crisis”

The Unforgiving Minute – “We didn’t want to have to make an example of anyone. We tried to ask nicely for our humanity and dignity. We tried to put it gently. Nobody gave a shit.”

#watch,

Pussy Riot – Police State – “Music video directed by Matt Creed Starring Chloë Sevigny” Interesting for the video, not for the music.

Russian Bots and Trolls – “For the low, low price of $200, you too can control the fate of any American election.”

Trump Administration Suddenly Cancels Refugee Program That Saved Lives of Central American Children – “The State Department announced Wednesday evening the abrupt cancellation of a program that gave youth fleeing violence in Central America the chance to apply for asylum and join their families in the United States.” The cruelty does not even stop with children in this cynical administration.

Artists Re:Thinking the Blockchain – We Make Money Not Art – “Within the arts it has profound implications as both a means of organising and distributing material, and as a new subject and medium for artistic exploration. This landmark publication brings together a diverse array of artists and researchers engaged with the blockchain, unpacking, critiquing and marking the arrival of it on the cultural landscape for a broad readership across the arts and humanities.” Another great book review by Regine. Thank you.

SpeechBoard – “The easiest way to edit podcasts ” Probably works only for English podcasts at the moment. And also, I can also think of unethical reasons to delete certain words. But this is technically interesting, I guess.

Anarchism through the Silver Screen : Why Are Anarchists Suddenly Showing up in so many Korean Films? – “Why Are Anarchists Suddenly Showing up in so many Korean Films?” Some of these films made it on my films-to-watch list.

The right to the city: Free Ebook. – “50 years on from Lefebvre’s The Right to the City we ask, who is the city for? This free ebook report includes contributions from Anna Minton, Rebecca Omonira-Oyekanmi, David Adler, Huw Lemmey, and more.” Who can argue with free?

Defend J20 Resistance – “The charges against J20 defendants are an experiment. If the courts are able to successfully prosecute those arrested at J20, this will send a green light to the forces of repression seeking to contain, control, and eliminate social movements around the country. Just as all of our struggles are connected, we understand these arrests to represent a real threat to all efforts towards true freedom, dignity, and autonomy.”

Anarchist Political Prisoner Jeremy Hammond has Moved! – “After a long and stressful week, we are very happy to report that Jeremy has arrived at his new prison – FCI Milan in Milan, Michigan!” Finally.

Twitter officially doubles character count, says most 280 testers didn’t use it – “Today, you can spell out “two hundred and eighty” and STILL have room to say other stuff.” tl;dr.

Something is wrong on the internet – James Bridle – “What concerns me is not just the violence being done to children here, although that concerns me deeply. What concerns me is that this is just one aspect of a kind of infrastructural violence being done to all of us, all of the time, and we’re still struggling to find a way to even talk about it, to describe its mechanisms and its actions and its effects.”

Explode Together: XTC makes unrecognizable musique concrète out of its own catalog – “While they were developing all of those great albums, they (Partridge mainly, it seems) found the time to release an album and a half of intensely cut-up re-workings of the very same tracks that went into those first albums.”

How to fight a naked photo leak: Sia’s approach is just one of a few options – “Faced with pictures being sold to the highest bidder, the singer published them herself on Twitter. It’s one way to go – but is it the best?”

The Real Truth about Fake News : From Central Narratives to Rival Heresies – “From Central Narratives to Rival Heresies”

Harvey Weinstein’s Army of Spies – “The film executive hired private investigators, including ex-Mossad agents, to track actresses and journalists.” I mean come on…

Woman who gave Trump the middle finger fired from her job – “Juli Briskman said marketing company bosses called her in and fired her. Briskman, 50, says she has no regrets about flipping off Trump motorcade” I mean come on…

We’re All Mad Here: Weinstein, Women, and the Language of Lunacy by Laurie Penny – “We’re through the looking glass now. As women all over the world come forward to talk about their experiences of sexual violence, all our old certainties about what was and was not normal are peeling away like dead skin.” If words were the deciding factor we would have won, such great writing again by Penny.

I didn’t understand how widespread rape was. Then the penny dropped | David Graeber – “I’m a lefty academic versed in feminist theory. Still, I rebelled against the idea that rich and powerful men regularly rape or attempt to rape women”

#oldiebutgoodie

Weaponized Irony: A Roundtable on Trolling and Politics – “trolling [is] a “cognitive denial of service attack” essentially designed to jam up information channels so no effective debate could proceed.
The thing is, when trolling becomes power, it becomes serious. It is no longer ironic. It is probably no longer even “trolling.””

The Horizon of Desire by Laurie Penny – “Consent is not a thing because it is not an item, nor a possession. Consent is not an object you can hold in your hand. It is not a gift that can be given and then rudely requisitioned. Consent is a state of being. Giving someone your consent — sexually, politically, socially — is a little like giving them your attention. It’s a continuous process. It’s an interaction between two human creatures. I believe that a great many men and boys don’t understand this.”

#francais_deutsch_other

The program is out. Again I know not one artist, but again it will probably be great.

Life lessons from weightlifting: “strong women” are used to justify inequality – “Today’s young women are absolutely tough enough to tolerate any amount of misogynist bullshit – they just don’t want to and they shouldn’t have to.” “I love yoga as much as the next spiritually etiolated urban white lady, but the chanting wasn’t cutting it for the post-Brexit hunger games.”

Another Text by Remo Grolimund that is still sickeningly relevant today.

Can everybody just shut up? Please.

Title: Do you want some more music?

It has been almost 12 years since I last posted one of my “podcasts”. So why come back now?

Between 2005 – 2007 I posted a number of weekly podcasts on my blog. Well, I say podcast, but they are podcasts only in the technical sense as in you can subscribe to, download, comment them.

In the meantime the podcast has turned into a well established format and usually it is thought off as some sort of talk radio. What I did was never a podcast in that sense. I don’t talk. I just mix some music and samples together to create a moody audio collage. I use whatever seems interesting at the time. Lately I felt the urge to revive the ole beast.

So here it is again, Pieceocast, a podcast of sorts. In a way.
If you enjoy it, please tell a friend.

Title: The dreamers of the dream

Recently someone called me Utopie-Jan, utopian Jan. Was that supposed to offend me?

Sure I cheerish some utopian ideas and goals. But this is not at all a problem. Since when is it a bad thing to still have dreams? Without a vision a man dies, someone once told me, and this has stuck with me ever since.

I think this is a typical mix up between what should happen and what does happen. Of course it is important to face reality, to make compromises, to surrender to things as they are and all that. And I do plenty of that – as one would. But I try to keep my dreams alive as well, to keep believing in the world I would like to see and fight for.

Ursula K Le Guin one of my favorite utopian scifi writers has recently died. But we will keep dreaming the dream.

So here it is, Pieceocast, a podcast of sorts. In a way.

Title: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

There is a German saying, “Humor ist, wenn man trotzdem lacht”, which roughly translates to “humor is, when you laugh anyway”. In these desperate times laughing can sometimes feel like the only medicine. Sometimes when a situation gets too absurd, too crazy, too mad, it feels like there is only one thing left to do, to burst out laughing. This past year the late night comedians have been an invaluable resource to withstand the madness surrounding (but not limited to) US president Donut T®ümpf. And how, did we laugh about the predator in chief. But laughing was in no way meant to trivialize the clusterfuck of a situation that we find ourselves in. Lately the tides are turning. The laughter gets stuck in our throats a bit more as we realize that we are stuck with this bullshit.

There are of course different kinds of laughter, and while some of it’s darker forms seem less sane, sarcastic, stress relief, mocking, chiding laughter, what difference does it really matter? Just one thing really counts, that we keep fighting for a better world, and that we keep laughing while doing so.

So here it is, Pieceocast, a podcast of sorts. In a way.

Title: Boys Will Be Boys Held Accountable

Boy holding a sign saying boys will be held accountable

One day after International Women’s Day here’s a small reflection on the often (ab)used saying “boys will be boys”. This sentence usually gets employed in an attempt to give a blanket explanation, as if it could magically excuse the inexcusable, the transgressive, inappropriate and abusive behavior by boys and even men. When the latter happens, the act of belittling begins with framing grown men boys. Nevertheless the sentence remains deeply ingrained in our culture. No wonder that at the recent Women’s Marches there were many signs with variants on it.

Incidentally there are also lots and lots of songs that contain this saying either in the title or as a phrase in the lyrics as this lyrics search will show. At the start of the mix you’ll hear two short pieces of such songs, the sisters and the brothers, but yeah, while they are beautiful songs, they are just here for reference. Then the mix moves on to its actual message with the Dresden Dolls, Peaches and of course Stella Donnelly.

Stella Donnelly recently described how sometimes guys threw beer bottles at her, when she performed her song Boys will be Boys. When I read this and then listened to her beautiful and powerful song it made me cry. This cannot stand, no more excuses. Boys will be held accountable.

Title: All your space are belong to us

Space Force Logo via b3ta

Donut T®ümps ridiculous “Space Force” speech and Stephen Hawkings death (R.I.P.) somehow coincided this week and it made me think about the revived enthusiasm for colonizing space in this recent time. When the filthy rich, the Musks and the Amazons of this world, are gearing up to priority ship their asses to Mars, the rest of us might well be stuck in a dilemma. On the one hand space travel is cool, of course, and it could well open up many opportunities. On the other hand, if economic privilege is going to be the driving and deciding factor on who gets to develop these technologies and who gets to ship to Mars first, it would be just wrong on every possible level. But even when thinking about publicly funded space travel (which needs to be the way to do this in principle), there are two faces to the coin that may well be represented by T®ümp and Hawking. The bully who still acts as US president visualizes it as a war front, as he would. A warfront, where his nation has to impose itself, crush and eradicate everyone else with their *drumroll* “Space Force”, lulz. The scientist hopes that a common project like space colonization could bring humanity together. Guess which side should win and which side probably will win…

Personally I tend to agree with Michio Kaku on this topic. If one considers the mess we humans have made of our own planet while colonizing and exploiting it, our track record so far should not really lend itself to argue in favor of spreading humanity to other planets – just yet. Maybe it would be preferable to work on becoming a “truly planetary” or as Kaku calls it a “type 1 civilization”, a civilization that is “secular, scientific, multicultural and at peace”. And while we are at it let’s also change this civilization to no longer be racist, sexist, homophobic and to end economic inequality. Then, and only then, can we move to another planet. So let’s get to work on these goals first. Should take about 100 years, Kaku claims, if we don’t blow ourselves up first, that is.

Title: Stop The Violence

Stop The Violence Mandala by Shepard Fairey

Last weekend I went through some old mixtapes, and found one called Wha’The’Fuck from August 1998, which makes it almost 20 years old. I quite liked the track selection, but cringed at the quality of it, so I decided to mix it again. Back then we used to joke, that no DJ Mix is a good mix without a Boards of Canada track in it, so I added one at the end. All the other tracks were already used back then. I had trouble finding the Filthy Lucre one, so I used the original mix at the start.

Stop the violence by KRS1/BDP, of course, is one of my old time favorite hip hop tracks. I still quite like how I added an acid track underneath it. Stop the violence also seems like a fitting motto considering the huge mobilization against school shootings that we see happening in the USA at the moment. Tomorrow there will be a March for our Lives in DC, and the beautiful graphics were made by Shepard Fairey for that occasion.

Speaking of old mixes and upsetting anniversaries, the war in Iraq was started 15 years ago. There were huge mobilizations back then to stop the war, millions of people took to the streets worldwide, but the US kept going, even after it got clear that their reasons for starting the war had been bogus, no weapons of mass destruction were found.
Back then I made an anti-war mix to protest this cynical war: Peace Not War. It also features Stop The Violence as well as Saul Williams, Beastie Boys, Sage Francis and many more.

All you need to read on the Cambridge Analytica story

Edit (actually read this instead:

Cloak and Data: The Real Story Behind Cambridge Analytica’s Rise and Fall – “The secretive data firm said it could move the minds of American voters. That wasn’t its real victory.”

Michael Seemann – Donald Trump und die Mär von der Daten-Wunderwaffe – Elsewhere he summed it up like this: “kurz: es ist die falsche aufregung, mit dem falschen adressaten und erreicht genau das falsche. bitte aufhören. danke.” Bit cynical, but right on.

Diligent overview.

Just because Cambridge Analytica tells its customers it can sway elections, it doesn’t follow that they’re any good at it – “So long as we take Cambridge Analytica’s claims at face value, we can say that the problem wasn’t business-as-usual — mass inequality, policies that benefited the richest and whitest among us — it was Robert Mercer’s magical mind-control ray. Likewise the claims of Russian interference: if Russian interference was the problem, then all we have to do is fight off Russian propaganda — no need to purge the Democrats of advocates for the finance industry, mass surveillance, authoritarianism and endless war” Cory on the hype.

Containing both “A Bend in The River” and “Stereotypes incorporated, this 20+ track album collection is the seminal record about Arab Identity in the West, featuring guest appearances by Loe Pesci and several of Narcy’s co-horts. Sorry, Jordan Peterson: rage isn’t a great look for a self-help guru | Nesrine Malik – “Being exposed by someone who is so obviously smarter than him and is therefore immune to his pseudo-intellectual schtick is Jordan Peterson’s Room 101, it’s entitlement Kryptonite. It re-erects the prison walls of his mediocrity and unoriginality.”

Puerto Ricans and Ultrarich “Puertopians” Are Locked in a Pitched Struggle Over How to Remake the Island – “This exodus was first presented as a temporary emergency measure, but it has since become apparent that the depopulation is intended to be permanent. The Puerto Rican governor’s office predicts that over the next five years, the island’s population will experience a “cumulative decline” of nearly 20 percent.” Shock doctrine.

Noam Chomsky on the Populist Groundswell, U.S. Elections, the Future of Humanity, and More – “There’s been nothing like this in history. It’s kind of an outrageous statement, but it happens to be true, that the Republican Party is the most dangerous organization in human history. Nobody, not even the Nazis, was dedicated to destroying the possibility of organized human life.” On the USA under T®ümp opposing climate change agreements.

‘Catastrophe’ as France’s bird population collapses due to pesticides – “Dozens of species have seen their numbers decline, in some cases by two-thirds, because insects they feed on have disappeared” Tip of the iceberg.

Bernie Sanders: Russia and Stormy Daniels distract us from real problem of inequality – “We have to fight Trump every day. But we have to not lose our vision as to where we want to go as a country. We can talk about the disastrous role Russia has played in trying to undermine American democracy. That is enormously important. But we also have to talk about the fact that we have the highest rate of child poverty in any major economy of the world.” All the scandals of this administration seen as a derailing effort.

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Lone DNC Hacker’ Guccifer 2.0 Slipped Up and Revealed He Was a Russian Intelligence Officer – “Robert Mueller’s team has taken over the investigation of Guccifer 2.0, who communicated with (and was defended by) longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone.” His OpSec was never that great.

Saudi Crown Prince Boasted That Jared Kushner Was “In His Pocket” – “One of the people MBS told about the discussion with Kushner was UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed, according to a source who talks frequently to confidants of the Saudi and Emirati rulers. Even Pence’s Daughter Bought a Copy of John Oliver’s Gay Bunny Book – “I have bought his book,” Charlotte Pence, the author of the original Bundo book, told the Hill. It doesn’t have to be divisive. I think that everybody can come together over Marlon.” Lol.

If You’re Pissed About Facebook’s Privacy Abuses, You Should Be Four Times As Angry At The Broadband Industry – “So again, it makes perfect sense to be angry with Facebook. But if you’re deleting Facebook to protect your privacy but still happily using your stock, bloatware-laden smartphone on one of these networks, you’re just trying to towel off in a rainstorm. The reality is that apathy to consumer privacy issues is the norm across industries, not the exception, and however bad Facebook’s behavior has been on the privacy front, the telecom industry has been decidedly worse for much, much longer. And whereas you can choose not to use Facebook, a lack of competition means you’re stuck with your snoop-happy ISP.” It’s a systemic problem, stupid.

Plastic eating microbes to the rescue: evolution may be finding a solution to the problem of plastic waste – “Environmental pollution from plastics remains one of the greatest challenges worldwide with the increasing consumption of plastics. We successfully constructed a new superior PET-degrading variant with the determination of a crystal structure of PETase and its degrading molecular mechanism. This novel technology will help further studies to engineer more superior enzymes with high efficiency in degrading. This will be the subject of our team’s ongoing research projects to address the global environmental pollution problem for next generation.” What could possibly go wrong.

Who are Breivik’s fellow travellers? – “The “cultural Marxism” that Breivik blamed for Europe’s Muslim takeover is a conspiracy theory that was born in the US.

In a way.

The Lobster Queen
Anyone who listens to this “podcast” (of sorts) understands that to sum it up in one sentence it would suffice to say: It’s a podcast about stuff that I find around the internet. So, hmm, this weeks episode was a little complicated:

First, it’s my 88. podcast and the number 88 is of course an asshole, because as you know this number is used by neo-nazis as a dog whistle. That is why I simply had to throw in some anti-fascist music this week, and not just one songs, at least two. √

Second, the exiting This is America video by Childish Gambino, that you absolutely must see right now, if you haven’t already, lead us to another, earlier song by Childish Gambino called “Fuck Your Blog”. This fits my self-depreciating humor perfectly. In it goes. √

Third, ContraPoints last week released a fantastic Jordan Peterson take down video that you also must see right now, if you haven’t already, no, wait, hold on, I meant after you listened to the podcast. That Lobster Queen song, done. √

And finally, I have been re-watching the brilliant Century of the Self documentaries by Adam Curtis, and some of the samples are just perfect. √

All these things combined result in a pretty adventurous mix. But actually, let’s just be grateful that I stayed away from throwing in more Swiss-german music, because I easily could have done, since the Steffe La Cheffe album came out last Friday and the latest Eldorado FM release is still hot.

Title: And We Have To Wake Up

Blackkklansman Presser
Blackkklansman Presser

For this weeks mix it would have been enough to just use that powerful Spike Lee rant at the Cannes film festival, where he was promoting his new movie BLACKKKLANSMAN. But since last week I already went a bit numerology on here, in the negative sense, it’s time this week to use it in a positive sense. Podcast # 89 reminded me of what an extraordinary year 1989 was, of course politically and historically, with the fall of the Berlin wall, but also musically. So many groundbreaking albums came out in 1989. De La Sound – 3 Feet High and Rising, Beastie Boys – Paul’s Boutique, Fugazi – 13 songs, Nirvana – Bleach. To name just a few. I also started to hear more about the “second summer of love in the UK”, where the rave scene in its third year was in full bloom (808 State).

All the music used in this mix was released in 1989 (at least I think so).

But the angry words by Spike Lee are very much from 2018.

It’s time to wake up.

Title: From feminists to summer hits

Jordan Peterson
Jordan Peterson contemplating his favorite feminist

Yes, Peterson. Yes, again. Yes, that guy gets way too much attention. But. Since Peterson finally needs to get exposed for the fraud and charlatan that he is, maybe, just maybe, and hopefully, the part of the economist interview, where Peterson is raking his brain for “his favorite admirable woman”, will move that endeavor along just a tiny little bit of a fraction. At the very least, that part of the interview is comedy gold.

The best possible commentary to anything to with Peterson is then delivered by Walter Geoffrey, the “signing” (if that is what he seems to be doing) french bulldog. But as counterweight after this horrendous voice (I mean Peterson), I needed to dish out some radical political statements, and while, for the record, I do not condemn any of these, Marcuse is simply the best. The samples stem from the still excellent Adam Curry documentary Century of the Self (2002).

At around midpoint of the broadcast I suddenly remember a dream that I had, in which my favorite football team (YB) somehow won the Swiss champion title. What then ensues is a bizarre battle of summer hits and football chants. Please do “The Russel” while listening to it. Here’s a GIF for you to learn it.

Title: The Commander of Cheese

Rachael Talibart - Sirens
Rachael Talibart – Sirens

Yes, the commander of[!] cheese[!] keeps using his mass hypnosis techniques and the permanent outrage shenanigans left, right and middle. Okay, mostly right. Okay, all the way to the right, actually.

I am the spirit that negates.
And rightly so, for all that comes to be
Deserves to perish wretchedly;
‘Twere better nothing would begin.
Thus everything that your terms, sin,
destruction, evil represent—
That is my proper element

J.W. Goethe – Faust

But what does it really matter? Global warming will get us all, and when climate change knocks you out …

That was the past. Time for the future.

My music habits sure have changed. No longer do I visit record stores to search for music, nor do I even use magazines or music blogs. No, these days I discover new (or old) music via twitter and online videos. It’s pretty random. But hey, it’s all good. Sometimes it all falls together nicely. Raw hip hop, poor audio, mistakes included, powerful, free spirited.

Title: From bottom of my heart

Bin Salman, Infantino, Putin
Memetic Moment during the opening game of Russia 2018

The world cup, it can’t be avoided, huh. I for one REALLY wanted to boycott Russia 2018. But of course I already caved in. What I can say though is, that I have never felt as little excitement for a world cup as this time. It is hard to ignore the human rights situation in Russia, their plutocratic leader, authoritarian regime, the kleptocracy, plus the corrupt way the world cup bid was won makes everything even uglier. I’ll watch it, for the football, but my resolve to boycott Kathar 2022 remains steadfast. For now.

The middle section of the mix is a sort of clean up of samples I recorded loosely having to do with computers, social media, privacy.

The last part of the mix is dedicated to the amazing Rammellzee. If you have not seen it yet, this short documentary offers a brief introduction to this visionary artist, rapper, musician, actor …

And yes, that was a cheap shot, De Niro. But well said nevertheless.

Rammellzee Art
Rammell! Let him go!
